ABOUT

Kate was raised in Grand Haven, Michigan, and began her performance career at age eight. Her interest in musical theater, film, directing, and stage management ultimately led her to pursue dancing at local studios. She recognized her passion for improvisation and collaboration and made it her mission to achieve her rawest form of expression. At sixteen, they attended Interlochen Arts Academy where she was educated under the instruction of Joseph Morrissey, Katie Dorn, and Rachel James. She also had the opportunity to work with/construct new works alongside Yoshito Sakuraba, Sydney James Harcourt, and Peter Sparling and contributed to various student works.

She then attended the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she currently studies to attain her B.F.A. in contemporary dance performance this spring. They have had the privilege to train with incredible educators such as Brian McGinnis, Shannon Jones, Marcus Schulkind, Kurt Douglas, and Tara Brown. She has also performed works created by world-renowned artists; Jim Viera, Heather Stewart, José Limón, Ohad Naharin, and more. During her time at the conservatory, she values working creatively alongside her peers. She finds that being surrounded by a brilliant community of dancers is a significant aspect of her artistic endeavors.
